The Gift That Started It All
Capt. Arthur Hamm Set an Example Through His Generosity
Capt. Arthur Hamm died in World War I, but a century later his legacy lives on, in part because of his gift to UF.
Capt. Hamm designated UF as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy in 1918 because he sought to recognize the opportunities UF had given him. This exceptional man set the foundation for a tradition that would remain alive for years to come.
The UF Legacy Society honors those loyal friends and alumni who remember UF through a gift in their estate plans. Our donors are humanitarians selflessly invested in UF's excellence and that of future generations. Thanks to them, the University of Florida continues to be among the best universities in the nation.
